The two day Lotchenpass route to 2690m is a high mountain pass connecting Kandersteg to the Canton of Berne to Ferden in the Canton of Valais. This alpine crossing, used since pre-historic times, is one of the oldest in the Alps and has been used as a trading route for salt, kitchen spices and even cattle.
